Ngan’s favorite thing about blogging is meeting incredible, interesting people all around the world, and sharing inspiration. She began anonline journal about 15 years ago, but that was a more personal, friends-only blog that she says now seems worlds away. Her current blog started 4 years ago as a supplement to her jewelry website -- a place where she could share jewelry projects, updates, and inspirations. She blogs part time, or more accurately, with whatever time she can afford when not being a full-time mom.
Ngan sells handmade gemstonejewelry on Etsy. She opened her primary Etsy shop (envejewelry) almost 4 years ago, but has been creating jewelry for herself for as long as she can remember. As a kid, she loved to take jewelry apart and enjoyed experimenting with found objects.
Her background is in Clinical Child Psychology, but as soon as she earned her PhD, she and her husband had their first child. They have a 4-yr-old son, a 2-yr-old daughter and are now expecting a third child (in April)! It was important to Ngan to be home with the kids in these first few precious years of their lives so she’s currently a full-time wife and mom.
She was born in Vietnam and herfamily immigrated to the states when Ngan was 6. She grew up in Wichita, KS andwent to KU for undergrad and grad school. She says she’s a Kansas girl, andbleeds crimson and blue! After grad school, she lived in Boston for 3 years where she and her husband got married and started their family. They moved to KC about 3 years ago to be closer to family again.
